Thanks for stopping by to take a look around. Please feel free to post an introduction if you'd like and some information about why you’re interested in Django.
Hello-

I recently joined the Django/Python bandwagon. I tried Rails for awhile, but there is a lot of stuff like the auth/comments system in Django that made me want to switch over.

I read the book online and am trying to work with it everyday so I can get my skills up ASAP! :)

My name is Ted and right now I live in Little Rock, Ar doing web design. I have been a PHP guy for about 4 years now...

I think Django and the MTV thing is the most exciting thing I have seen out of web development in a while! I hope to meet some new people here and spread the word about Django.

I think this forum is much needed. When I search for Django forums on google all I get is the forum apps built with Django.
Hi, I like this forum too. I'm new to the area of web development, Django & python.

It would be great if there a section for discussion of 3rd party django apps
Hello All,

I seen the google video for Django last year and fell in love with it. I had spent one year programming php and was ready to pull my hair out. So I learned python and django in a month and rebuilt more functionality than a year of php programming and I was impressed.

I hope this forum becomes a place to meet. Maybe we can share tips and tricks.

Scott
hi,

i think it is a good thing to have a forum dedicated to django - but isn't it a shame it's running on a PHP forum ? ;)

i'm the developer of a django forum called Sphene Community Tools. If you are interested i could help you with set up, configuration and customization as much as you need.. (or even with hosting).. it would be great having a public community as a show case for me.. and it for sure has advantages to show that you don't need PHP to run a django community ;)

Yeah, it is kind of a shame, even if the owner didn't take you up on your offer, a forum app would be uber simple to create with django and then this forum could showcase what python and django can really do.

Just to update everyone, we are working right now to make the switch to a Django powered forum app and should have it up and running within a week or so. I'll post back after the new forum is up to let you know how it all went and what you can expect form the new software.
OK, the switch is complete. Everything should be working correctly. You should have received a new password in your email, if you didn't you can always reset it on the login page. I would like to thank Herbert from http://sct.sphene.net for all of his great help getting everything customized and setup the way I wanted it. Hope you like it and if you find any major issues, please post them in the: General Category >> New Forum Issues thread.
